Apple Update at WWDC 2017

On Monday 5th June at the Apple World Wide Developer Conference Apple announced some new products, updates to existing line ups and some very exciting products coming down the line.

The highlights of Apple’s announcements are:

All new iMac Pro

All new iMac Pro

Coming in December Apple officially announced the introduction of an all new iMac Pro. Targeted at the professional graphics, video and creative user the dark grey iMac will boast some impressive specs; up to 18-Core processors, Radeon Vega video cards for VR and 3D work, support for up to 128GB RAM, 10GB Ethernet, 4TB Solid State Drives and support for two external 5K displays.
Apple indicate that this new iMac will give proper workstation performance. It will be priced very favourably against it’s Windows equivalents.

HomePod

Following in the footsteps of Amazon Echo and Google Home Apple have announced the SIRI based HomePod. Promising Sonos levels of quality and the smarts of Amazon Echo, the HomePod will be powered by the A8 processor, 7 tweeters and 6 microphones. Thus, promising a true consistant 360 degree audio experience.
Spotify users will miss out as the HomePod will only support Apple Music.
The HomePod will be available to order from December in the UK, US and Australia, priced at $349- no date has been announced for and Irish release.

iPad Pro

The iPad Pro line up has received a slight update, the 9.7” display has been enlarged to 10.5” while maintaining the same sized enclosure.
Both sixed iPad Pros now boast the new A10X Fusion chip and ProMotion displays.
Autumn will see the release of iOS 11 which includes the new Files app, customisable Dock, improved multitasking and deeper integration of Apple Pencil. The iPad Pro gives users the ability to be even more productive and creative.

Macbook

Apple’s lightest most portable notebook now is offered with all new Kaby Lake processors. Up to Core i7 and supports 16GB RAM.

MacBook Pro

The updated 13-inch MacBook Pro features Kaby Lake processors up to 3.5 GHz Core i7 with Turbo Boost up to 4.0 GHz, and the 15-inch MacBook Pro goes up to 3.1 GHz Core i7 with Turbo Boost up to 4.1 GHz. The 15-inch MacBook Pro now comes standard with more powerful discrete graphics with more video memory, and the 13-inch MacBook Pro adds a new configuration. With the revolutionary Touch Bar with Touch ID, gorgeous 500-nit Retina display, Thunderbolt 3 and incredible performance in a portable design.

iMac

Apple’s all-in-one desktop range – the iMac has been given a revamp across the line. Boasting new faster processors, thunderbolt IO and brighter displays.
Options include 21.5” 4K and 27” 5K display, up to 64GB RAM, 8GB Video memory and 2TB SSD Drives.
