IT Helpdesk Support Engineer (Level 2)

Typetec is looking to identify and hire a highly motivated and technical Helpdesk Engineer to work at our NMC offices providing remote support to all customers using the newest remote monitoring tools. Supporting primarily windows infrastructure/environments alongside all the latest cloud technologies.


You will report to the Director of Operations, the role will include, but not exclusively:


  • In-house Level I & II support to all SMB/Enterprise customers remotely.
  • This position requires hands-on experience across a wide IT scope. From PC hardware, IT infrastructure (hardware and software), software application and O’S support experience (including installation, configuration and troubleshooting).
  • Contribute to a good and friendly working environment; working closely as a member of a strong support team.
  • Provide customer support through all levels; troubleshooting, documentation, closure and escalation where necessary.
  • Demonstrate high customer care at all times.
  • To take ownership of problems until a resolution has been found to the customer’s satisfaction.
  • Deliver outstanding and expedited customer service with best practice and principles.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Job Requirements:

You will have:


  • Minimum 1-2 years experience of working in a Service Desk or similar role for MSP
  • Excellent Desktop, laptop and other user device support and troubleshooting
  • Administrative Knowledge of Server Support – 2008 and 2012, 2016
  • Microsoft Active Directory administration skills
  • Microsoft Exchange knowledge and Office 365 an advantage
  • Microsoft Azure and Sharepoint a distinct advantage.
  • Basic understanding of windows networking (IP, DHCP, DNS etc.)
  • Firewall, routing and switching experience an advantage
  • Good backup Software Support knowledge
  • Strong Interpersonal skills with ability to support and communicate with users on all levels
  • Sound troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated self – starter who is willing to change quickly between roles, duties and tasks
  • A strong desire and ability to learn new technologies quickly
  • A full clean driving license is an advantage
