Schools

Technology shapes the way children interact with the world so it makes sense to be using technology in the classroom that they are familiar with at home. From building appealing visual and interactive presentations, to creating websites and podcasts, Typetec can provide solutions that engage and encourage innovation in the classroom.

We understand that a school is a different environment than a commercial business enterprise and therefore needs IT support in a number of different ways. The relationships we have built with our existing customers within the sector have been built in a true partnership approach. Existing customers include Alexandra College, Rathdown School, Not School Ireland, Educate Together and Mount Sackville.

Familiarity with technology is something today’s students take for granted – notebook computers, mobile telephones, gaming devices, portable music players are all commonplace. Interaction with personal digital devices is both familiar and relevant to students engaging in a variety of activities with these technologies.

When technology is this mobile, educators can bring learning right to their students, eliminating the need to plan around computer lab schedules as well as time-consuming and distracting trips to the lab. With no cables to tie them down, student groups can retrieve and post assignments, check classroom schedules and print from a wider range of locations than ever before.

ClassroomMobile computing has fewer infrastructure requirements, so can cost less than outfitting dedicated labs. Battery-powered devices such as MacBooks and Laptops don’t require the use of electrical outlets in classrooms. Meanwhile, wireless networking requires only one Ethernet port per classroom and saves on cabling costs.

Mobile technology can ease the pressures schools face to build more classrooms and specialized learning areas. With Typetec’s Classroom in a box solution, Learning Labs can be wheeled anywhere in a school and used in a variety of different subject areas.
